TRAC match – July 14, 2020

We had 5 shooters today in pleasant weather; some clouds with bright sunshine, temperatures with humidity was warm, but not overbearing, and breezes from the typical various directions.  Not as much as last week, but noticeable.

Bobby also stopped in to watch and chit-chat with us.  He also picked up the target stuff to transport to Mormon Lake for our match this weekend.  We are grateful that he volunteered to do that and thank him for his thoughtfulness.

Larry, shooting his Tsar, and Barry, shooting his Redwolf, both tied with a 38/40.  Old man Mike, shooting his Thomas, and Ben, shooting his BSA, both tied with 37/40.  Yours truly is still trying to work out the bugs on my D54 and shot 23/40.  Not great, but still working on pellet selection and harmonic tuner adjustment, but it is coming along little by little.

An interesting mix of target sizes and distances today.  We all seemed to get there by about 7:30 and transported the targets, blocks, etc to the range and were set up by a few minutes after 8:00.  Sight in complete by 8:30 and we were ready to go.  We seem to have set up and take down evolved into a science that takes very little time to accomplish.

Next match is this coming Saturday at Mormon Lake, followed by the TRAC match next Tuesday, and then the second open Match of the month at BASF on the following Saturday.  Lots of opportunities to get out, get some air, and resume a little sense of normalcy.

Any questions, comments, concerns, or insights, please feel free to email and we will answer to the best of our ability.
