TRAC match – June 23, 2020

Today only 3 shooters, but was a good “practice” match with bright skies, and a gentle but shifting breeze from 5:00 to 7:00 and variable.  Temps were getting warmer so with one more Tuesday left in June, we may take a break for a bit.

Mike did his usual 40/40 under easy conditions with his Thomas.

Larry shot 37/40 using his Grand Prix today and experimenting with position.

Mark shot 22/40 with his D54 and experimenting with various settings.  One step at a time in order to bring her back on line.  Did not bring the chrono today so not sure of velocity.

Have gotten word from BASF that a few more precautionary items have been added due to the increase in Covid-19 cases.  What affects us is that anytime entering a building, a mask or face covering is required.  They are just following local municipality and state guidelines.  Another good reason to take a break.

We have also gotten the green light to schedule events for 2021.  We will be requesting the Rifle Silhouette range on the 4th Saturday of each month from Jan 2021 to May of 2021.  For November and December, the 4th Saturday falls on the weekend of Thanksgiving and Christmas day respectively.  We cannot use the R/S range on the 3rd Saturday due to standing reservations with ARPA (AZ Rifle and Pistol Assn) match shoots.  Therefore, we will reserve the Pistol Silhouette range on the 3rd Saturday for those two months in lieu of a better alternative.

We always have our eyes open for other options.  Should any member have a good VIABLE venue, please let us know.  We are always looking to improve our shooting experiences to try to take care of all of our members.  Of course, the long-term goals are to obtain our own land and develop from there.  We keep our fingers crossed for that possibility.

Respectfully submitted,
