Field Target Club

TRAC match – February 23, 2021

Well, winter must be over.  The weather today was perfect!  Sunny, clear, with temps in the 70’s and no need for even a sweatshirt.   The breeze was even mild.  A little swirling, but not much to speak of….fortunately.  That’s only because of what Gene set up.  Small KZ’s out to the limit of being legal, and being set in the dark shadows of his property.

Yes, we are still at CASA Crist, and will be again next Tuesday.  The second Tuesday in March is when we regain access to the rifle silhouette range at BASF.  Meanwhile, Gene had 7 lanes today, each with two targets.  He had 4 lanes facing south on the south side of his house, with the other 3 lanes facing north on the west and north sides of his house.   The crew shot once, moved the firing line back, and shot through the second time for a 56 shot match.

Old man Mike was numero uno once again with 51/56.

Barry shot 45/56 for second place due to shooting more hits before his first miss.

Wayne also shot 45/56 but had his first miss before Barry’s.

Larry shot his Grand Prix today and was right behind with 44/56

Gene tied with Larry with 44/56 but had his first miss before Larry did.

Scott shot 29/56 with his Marauder.

Dan shot 16/56 with his FX Dreamline.

Mark had gun issues and did not finish.  POI was waaaaay off.  Maybe a bumped scope.  Won’t know until it is chrono’d.

Gene’s wife, Elma, treated us to a big pot of Filipino beef stew and big pot of white rice after we finished shooting.  That was quite tasty and we thanked her profusely.

Next week, same place, at 9:00.  No idea what Gene has up his sleeve for then…..

Respectfully submitted,
