TRAC match – October 20, 2020

You can tell that fall is here.  Today it was noticeably cooler and much windier.  Today’s temps started in the low 60’s and only warmed to the low 70’s by the end of the match.  The wind made it feel cooler than it actually was.  All during set up and about the first half of the match, the wind was coming at us from about 1:00 and between 7 and 12 mph.  It was physically moving us and causing the pellets to nose dive.  By about the half-way point, the wind did the same as last week; it died almost like turning off a light switch.  When it did reappear (mildly), it came from about the 7:00 direction.

Five shooters today and no clean scores.  Old man Mike, aka “snuffy”, shot 39/40 with his every present Thomas gun.  Ben was next in line with his Redwolf and 38/40.  Barry really likes his Concept and shot 36/40 and Scott, shooting his Marauder, tallied 31/40.  Mark used his D54, had some issues with POI shift, and finished with 25/40.

Next week is the last shoot for October (already???), but will schedule for the 4 Tuesday’s in November.  As it continues to get cooler, we will move out beyond the berms and shoot in the desert terrain.  Looking forward to escaping the heat.  Soon.

That’s it for this installment.  More merriment to follow next week.
