Field Target Club

TRAC match – November 3, 2020

It is election day, and for the 5 of us that showed up at the range this morning, we elected to shoot a match!  And what a wonderful day for shooting!  The skies were partly cloudy, but still had a lot of sunshine.  The temps at the start of the festivities was in the low 70’s and warmed to the mid to upper 80’s and there was a little bit of wind.  Not much and coming from about 8:00 o’clock initially.  Later on, in the second half of the match, it would switch from 5:00 to 7:00 o’clock and play back and forth constantly, sometimes several times while trying to get off one shot!  What a PITA!

We were out beyond the berms again today and had 5 lanes / 2 targets per / yada, yada / for a 40-shot match.  The targets were set long to start with, and at the halfway point, they were moved out even further.  We had a 3/8”KZ target at 22 yards, ¾”KZ targets at 35, 39, and 43 yards.  Seemed like everything else was beyond that out to 55 yards.  Fun match, for sure, and good practice to boot.  The scores were certainly reflective of the difficulty factor

Old man, Mike was high score with 37/40 using his Thomas

Ben had 32/40 shooting his Redwolf

Gene had a 31/40 shooting his Redwolf and tied with…..

Barry, who also had a 31/40 shooting his Concept

Mark had 27/40 shooting his TX200

All in all, a good day, made even mo’ betta by munching burgers at Wild Horse West afterwards.  Then home to drop off the guns and then to the voting locations.  For me, it only took 20 minutes to vote; in and out.  Painless.

Want to join us next week, c’mon out.

Respectfully submitted,
