TRAC match June 30, 2020

Last Tuesday match for June and also the 7th anniversary of the deaths of the 19 Granite Mountain Hotshots on Yarnall Hill.  Not something most people would think about, but it happened, and is something we should remember.  I am constantly reminded because we have one of the two crew transport vehicles on display at the fire museum.

Five shooters in attendance today with 4 shooting and one (me) working on their gun.  The weather was delightful.  77 degrees and comfortable under the shade canopy.  Blue skies, high wispy clouds, and a really squirrely, shifting wind.  Even Mike was bitc…….er, commenting on it.  He said the string was hanging vertical, indicating next to no wind, yet the pellet impacted 1” outside the KZ at 3:00.

Mike was high score today (again) with a 37 (goes to show how breezy it was), with Larry directly behind with 36, and Barry (with a bad back) hot on his heels with a 35.  Not to feel left out, Ben was right behind with a 33.

We originally planned to take a break for a while, but the guys want to shoot, so we are going to continue to shoot Tuesdays through July.  We will take this a month at a time due to Covid and governmental restrictions.  If you feel like joining us, c’mon out.

We have the 2021 schedule approved for BASF with some weekends and ranges switched around due to major match scheduling and availability / holidays.

We also have tentative approval for Mormon Lake for July.  I will let you know for certain once I have permit in hand.

That is all for now…

Respectfully submitted,
