Field Target Club

TRAC match – July 20, 2021

Klingon’s.

That’s what we were today.  With the temps between 89 and 96 degrees and the humidity at 50%, everything we were wearing was “clinging on”.

Soggy is another good descriptive term.

The breeze did help somewhat in that it was out of the SW at 3 mph early in the match, then no specific direction at 5 – 7 mph during the match, then 6 mph out of the SSE at the end of the match.  It sorta floated in and out.

The sky was partly cloudy and bright, but the forecast of possible rain showers never materialized.

Five guys today with Mike taking the top spot with a 39/40 and having the nerve to complain about a target that would not go down, that was knocked down by everyone else.  Yeah, it is suspect, and we will take a look at it…..

Wayne and Larry tied with 37/40 and good shooting by both of them.

Mark shot 34/40, and Barry shot 31/40.

Five lanes were set today and targets were shifted at the half-way mark.  Lane one was designated as the off-hand lane.  This seems to be our typical set up, with one person per lane to keep the match moving.

We are looking forward to getting up into the pines this weekend, but will bring our raingear.  Fortunately, no fire restrictions in the Coconino national forest, so enough rain has fallen to satisfy the foresters.  We will keep an eye on the sky when we get there.  We have had epic conditions from time to time in the past, so prepare yourself for a fun-filled day of either shooting or griping….LOL
